Konkan Gyanpeeth Rahul Dharkar College of Pharmacy And Research Institute, Karjat celebrated “World Pharmacists Day” on 25th September 2017 with theme
“From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service”. World Pharmacists Day is used by FIP’s members and others around the globe to highlight the value of the pharmacy profession and impact on improving health to authorities, other professions and the media, as well as to the general public. This year’s theme has been chosen to reflect the important role of pharmacists in providing care to the public, and also to highlight the emotional connection they have with their patients. Mr Girish Hukare, AC, FDA, Raigad, Dr. Debesh Das (Vice- President Guffic lab) graced the occasion as chief guests. Mr. Santosh Ghodinde IPA member, Mr. Vijay Ghadge IPA, Manjeetsingh Rajpal Drug Inspector FDA. Mr. Shashank Mhatre, Mr Dinesh Solanki, Mr Parmar, Mr. Satish Pimpre, Shri Vijay Mande, Dr Shirodkar and many office bearers of Konkan Gyanpeeth, IPA, KGRDCP,CDARD,FDA,MSPC graced the occasion.
The program was inaugurated by all dignitaries by Deep Prajwalan and Saraswati Pujan. Pharmacist Oath and a prayer for humanity was recited. Dr. Mohan Kale Principal introduced and welcome guests, and gave detailed information and objectives of event. He urged Pharmacist to succeed clinically by patient counseling, Drug awareness, drug Monitoring, and minimising adverse drug reactions.
Mr. Girish Hukare AC, FDA addressed audience about role of the pharmacist in improving health care to improve patients’ quality of life. He urged the pharmacist to be well dressed with white apron and counsel, educate, aware patients. He insisted upon updation and upgradation of pharmacist to be mass friendly to improve owns reputation as in developed countries. He explained the role of patient counseling as a right of pharmacist. He congratulated all pharmacists of all levels from research to community. He asked pharmacist not to compare with physicians or should not involved in diagnosis. Rather be involved in patient awareness and be co-operative with T.B patients, Diabetic patients and be helpful in all types of epidemic. He elaborated the seven star role of pharmaciss as Care-giver, decision-maker, Communicator, Leader, Manager, Life-long-learner and teacher.
Dr. Debesh Das enlighten with keynote address on the theme “From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service”. He gave details about theme to reflect the numerous contributions of pharmacy profession. , He elaborated on Pharmacy profession & role of pharmacist .Contribution of Today’s Pharmacists in various fields & Talent attraction in Pharmacy Profession will augment the process. Mr santosh Ghodinde and Shashank Mhatre shared their experiences and highlighted the role of pharmacists.
On this occasion all pharmacists. Teaching staff, Non Teaching staff along with the students actively participated in health care camps to bring about awareness and Health issues. We had arranged free consultation about disease like Dengue, Malaria, and Anemia. The students arrange pharma counseling skits to aware about use of dots in T.B, eradicating aids, malaria, dengue, etc by performing Pathnatyas. Mr. Saurabh Puranik,Final year B.Pharmacy excelled as best Pharmacounselling Skit artist.
National level essay competition on the theme From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service was arranged. The first prize was awarded to Ms. Dhanshree Kakade from KGRDCP & RI and Second Prize to Ms. Neha Tandel from BNB Swaminarayan Pharmacy college, Salav, Vapi, Gujrat.
Mr. Santosh Ghodinde, Dhanvantari Medicals Panvel and Mr. Vivek Shinde, Shilpa Medicals Kalmboli were given best pharmacist award at the hands of Chief Guest.
