“World Pharmacists Day” celebrated on 25th September 2018
at K.G.R.D.C.P & R.I KARJAT
Konkan Gyanpeeth Rahul Dharkar College of Pharmacy And Research Institute, Karjat celebrated “World Pharmacists Day” on 25th September 2018 with theme “Pharmacist :Your medicine expert”. World Pharmacists Day was celebrated by FIP’s members and others around the globe to highlight the value of the pharmacy profession and impact on improving health to authorities, other professions and the media, as well as to the general public. The program was inaugurated by all dignitaries by Deep Prajwalan and Saraswati Pujan. Pharmacist Oath and a prayer for humanity were recited. All delegates were welcomed by a Swagat Geet performed by first year students. Dr. Mohan Kale Principal introduced and welcomed guests, and briefed detailed information and objectives of event. He urged Pharmacist to succeed by patient counseling, patient compliance, drug awareness, drug monitoring, and minimizing adverse drug reactions.
Mr. Girish Hukare, Assistant commitionar, FDA, Raigad, Mr.Amit mehta, MD, Osbro Pharma, Mr. Pradeepchandra Shringarpure, CEO/ Secretory, Konkan gyanpeeth trust, Mr. Vijay Mande LMC member, Mr. Kailash Tandale, Pharmacist, Mr. Sushil Mali, Secretory, Raigad Pharmacist Forum, Mr. Mandar Phalke, Member, Raigad pharmacy, Mr. Ketan Shah, Pharmacist, Mr. Amrit Bhagat, Pharmacist, Mr. Amit Pawali, Pharmacist, Mr. Dinesh Solanki, pharmacist, were guest of honor for this event.
Mr. Girish Hukare gave the brief account on Role of FDA in our daily lives. He quoted the importance of pharmacist in healthcare and he explained the need of commitment towards the society. He nicely explained that the pharmacist serves as the connection between the industry & society. He addressed to students that the motto of pharmacist is ‘Pharmacist: your medicine expert’ & he urged students to be the expert in pharma & medicine field. HE further added the need of monitoring of drugs by pharmacist as in these days the problem of overuse as well as misuse of antibiotics and OTC products is major reason for resistance by microorganism & creation of superbug. In the last, he explained the growth of Indian pharma market & various opportunities created for the students in pharma industry.
Mr. Kailas Tandale started his session with addressing the students about importance of pharmacist & community pharmacy. He explained the role of pharmacist in community pharmacy & nobility of pharmacist profession. He further explained the opportunities in healthcare & IT industry for pharmacy students as IT industries are emerging in healthcare sector.
Mr. Amit Mehta explained his struggle for becoming successful pharma industrialist. From earning his first salary of Rs. 300 to becoming MD of 3 pharma industries, he explained his journey of ups & down to the path of success. He shared his experience in various pharma industries in various departments such as Quality control, manufacturing, plant development, marketing etc. He quoted, ‘fortune favors the brave’ & ‘learning is lifelong process.’ He then added that never give up on dreams. He explained to students the mantra to become successful entrepreneur.
Mr. Pradeepchandra Shringarpure thanked all the dignitaries for their presence for the event. He explained the need of goof pharmacist & explained the importance of community pharmacy. He asked students to be ethical towards the profession.
Students involved in patient counseling and patient compliance under ‘KG Sanjivanee’ were awarded with certificates. All pharmacist attended this event were thanked and awarded with certificate as well as memento. The best Pharmacist award and Best Pharmacy shop award was awarded to Mr. Ketan Mehta.
Skit competition was held for first to final year students.
Vote of thanks was given by Nayan Kasare, a second year student. Mr. Pravin Jagtap was anchor for the program. All teaching and non teaching staff made this event successful.
